YOUR INFORMATION

This policy describes how videobunny handles information in its browser extension and on this website. Contact: [email protected].
What videobunny does
videobunny detects supported video sources on pages you visit, saves video or audio at your request, and provides a local download library.
Information processed on your device
On websites where you allow access, the extension observes video elements, page URLs and titles, media URLs, response metadata (such as content type and size), and video playback buffers. These are used to identify the correct video and process a requested download. This detection occurs as pages load or play, including before you open the popup. This is not a general browser-history archive.
Active downloads use temporary local records containing source page/media addresses and processing information. Media addresses can include tokens supplied by the source website. Persistent library records contain display titles, format, resolution, size, timing and status information, filenames, the source page URL for reopening the original page, and cover images or cover-image URLs. The library omits the signed media URL when saving new history records. Source page URLs may include query parameters or fragments, and cover URLs and some identifiers can also reveal the source of a video.
This store release does not provide diagnostic logging or log export. Local development builds and earlier releases may offer optional diagnostics, off by default. If enabled, source addresses, source metadata, download attempts and errors are temporarily recorded in extension session storage. No video data or cookie database is recorded. Export log creates a local JSON file at your request; there is no automatic upload. Turning recording off or clearing the log removes these session records. Exported files remain on disk until you delete them.
Settings, theme preference, download subfolder, selected file/directory handles, and permission-related references are stored locally. For new video and audio downloads, the extension retains a local playback copy in browser-managed extension storage so playback and cover editing work without selecting the saved file. This uses additional local disk space. A file you choose for playback or cover editing is processed locally. Selecting a cover changes the library record, not the video's embedded artwork.
Network requests and recipients
The extension requests media, manifests, segments, and thumbnails from the source websites and their hosting servers. Those services receive ordinary request information such as your IP address and may receive browser-managed cookies or an origin/referrer needed for the requested media. Cookies are managed by the browser; the extension does not read passwords or export a cookie database. Source media URLs and the current playback session may supply temporary access or playback tokens needed to retrieve the requested media. These are used for that download and can remain in temporary active-session records; they are not sent to a developer-operated service. Requests from existing signed-in sessions remain subject to the browser's cookie rules. Remote cover images may be requested when you open the library.
videobunny does not send your library, downloaded files, browsing activity, or selected local videos to a developer-operated service. This release contains no analytics SDK, advertising, cloud sync, AI processing, remote processing service. Your browser and the source websites operate under their own privacy policies. Unencrypted HTTP source pages or media remain unencrypted; prefer HTTPS sources.
Accounts, memberships and payments
Free downloads can be used without an account. The extension stores its advanced download allowance and random download reservation IDs locally. Clearing download history does not reset this allowance.
If you choose to sign in and connect an account, the membership service processes your email address, an internal account ID, your plan, expiry dates, connected extension credentials, and advanced download reservation IDs and results. Account requests also include ordinary network information such as an IP address. videobunny does not use this network information to build a location profile. The extension sends no video URLs, video titles, media files, cover images, or library content to this service. Sign-in and device tokens are stored as hashes on the server. The extension keeps its device credential in extension storage restricted to trusted extension pages.
The website uses an essential HttpOnly session cookie for sign-in. One-time sign-in links expire after 10 minutes. Sessions and connected extension credentials expire after 30 days and can be revoked. Resend delivers sign-in emails when the production account service is enabled. Local development instead stores test email messages in private local files.
Paddle processes Premium purchases and ongoing billing as merchant of record under its privacy policy. Paddle receives purchase and billing information, including the account email, address and payment details you supply at checkout. videobunny stores Paddle customer, transaction, subscription and adjustment IDs, configured plan and price IDs, membership status and expiry dates. The account page may display payment history and masked payment-method details, such as the card brand and last four digits. Full payment card numbers are handled by Paddle. videobunny does not receive full card numbers. Paddle scripts may load on the website when you open checkout or update a payment method from your account. No remote payment script runs inside the extension.
Processed notification records are kept for up to 90 days. Pending notifications remain until resolved. Membership and allowance records remain while the account is used and as needed to handle billing and refund disputes. Contact support to request access or deletion. Disconnect extensions from your account to revoke access. Signing out of the website does not automatically disconnect your extension.
Purposes and limited use
Information is used only to provide video detection, downloads, progress controls, local playback, cover selection, reopening source pages, library management, account access, download allowances, and purchased memberships. It is not sold, used for advertising, or used for creditworthiness or lending decisions. videobunny's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Storage, retention, and your choices
Detection data and playback buffers are temporary. Download processing uses temporary browser-managed files; normal completion or cancellation cleans up working files, while interruptions can leave temporary data until cleanup or removal of extension data. Session records last until the browser clears the session or the extension removes them. Library records and preferences remain until you clear them or remove extension data.
Use Clear Download History to remove visible history, stored file references, and retained extension playback files. A minimal identifier/status/timestamp tombstone may remain locally to prevent late progress messages from recreating a deleted record. Clearing history does not delete the downloaded video files. Deleting a video file is a separate action with confirmation and may be permanent. Files in your download folder remain after uninstalling the extension. Browser download history is controlled separately by your browser.
You can restrict the extension's site access through the browser, clear history, revoke file access, or uninstall it. Restricting site access can prevent detection or downloads on affected pages. Uninstalling removes extension-local data according to the browser's behavior, but does not remove saved videos from disk.
Changes and contact

This website
The landing page does not use an analytics SDK, advertising scripts, or tracking cookies. Account pages use an essential sign-in cookie and send sign-in requests to the membership service. The website’s hosting provider may receive ordinary web request information, such as an IP address and browser details, when serving the page. The support page lets you select a topic and opens your email app with a prepared message. It does not send messages automatically. Support emails are delivered through Cloudflare Email Routing to a Gmail support inbox and are processed to respond to your request.
